Friday 27th March Message

Friday 27th March Message
Dear Reader
The term ‘locked down’ is being used to describe our current pandemic, but for most people it is perhaps a feeling of being ‘locked in”
Our movement is restricted for good reasons and being behind locked doors is the safest place to be.

Fear of catching the Coronavirus is a real fear especially for the elderly and the young, although everyone is vulnerable.
The disciples of Jesus experienced fear and they too locked themselves behind closed doors, only their fear was about what might happen to them because they were followers of Jesus. They were genuinely fearful for their lives. So too are many people today, all over the word.
The reality for us today is that we all have our own particular health, financial and family/relationships matters to contend with and they can be, and are troublesome and fearful. Uncertainty can paralyse our sense of well-being and happiness.

It was into the fearful situation that Jesus came. It is into our fearful situation that Jesus comes today. Locked doors, pent up anger, resentment, bitterness, betrayal and a host of other situations locked within our hearts and minds.

Today I ask you to think/meditate for a while on the words of Jesus in the light of your own situation and discover that peace (Shallom) that transformed the disciples.
Peace and love!!
God bless you.

Jim

John 20: 19-20

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
