Broom Parish Church Choir Newton Mearns
THE CHOIR

The Choir meets ever Thursday in the Classroom, Gentlemen at 7.30pm, Ladies from 8.00pm and we usually finish about 9.00pm. We aim to help lead the hymn singing and also to provide an Introit every Sunday and, for the moment, an anthem once a month.

More singers in all parts, Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass, will be made very welcome to what is a very relaxed atmosphere where warm fellowship and enjoyable singing are happily intermixed, and laughter is frequently heard.

No formal qualification is required, just a desire to sing and to join with like minded people to assist in worship. Don’t worry if you are not too sure of what you voice is, come along and we’ll find out. If you are interested in joining the Choir, please do contact me, full details below.

From my personal point of view, I consider it an enjoyable privilege to be Choirmaster with the Broom Parish Church Choir.

THE SCRIPTURE READINGS

The readings at our services are undertaken by a faithful band of volunteers who are called upon approximately twice a year.

The Parish Secretary ensures that the readings are delivered prior to the Service giving plenty of time for rehearsal and familiarisation. Our readers support the Ministerial Team and are very much appreciated by the congregation. Many thanks to you all – you know who you are!

THE CHURCH FLOWERS

Each week the flowers in the chancel are sent to members of the congregation to let them know that our thoughts are with them in times of illness or bereavement. The flowers are sponsored by individuals in the congregation and arranged by a willing band of volunteers. New volunteers to help arrange the flowers are always welcome and tuition is available if necessary.

If you would like to donate flowers or help to arrange them please contact me through the Church Office telephone 0141 639 3528 or email the flower convenor.

Linda Moir,
Flower Convenor.
