Over the last three years, we have raised £2,453.59 and twinned all of the toilets in the Church with loos overseas, through the Toilet Twinning charity. We have twinned with individual toilets, school blocks and displacement camp blocks in Uganda, Nigeria, Chad, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Philippines, Bangladesh, Nepal, Haiti, and the Central African Republic. This has been a wonderful response from our congregation and the Mission and Outreach Committee would like to thank everybody who has donated to this very worthwhile charity. Amy (Linda Gemmell’s granddaughter)has been chosen to represent GB at the Special Olympics World Games being held in Abu Dhabi next year. Along with three coaches and four other gymnasts she has to raise £16,250 to attend. A Fundraising Concert is being held in Eaglesham Parish Church on Sunday 17th June at 7pm. The programme includes Classical Pieces by a String Ensemble and Songs from the Musicals by a small Singing Group. Refreshments will be served after the Concert....

As of next session we require new Leaders for both of our Groups on a Monday night from 6pm – 7pm. Ages of Sunbeams are 5-7 and activities include arts, crafts and games (pre–Brownie Group). Our little Sunbeams have been here at Broom for decades and we would not want the group to close. I am currently in discussion to continue the groups as Sunbeams or possibly merge them into Girlguiding and run them as Rainbows. Unfortunately we have decided to cancel the forthcoming ceilidh and instead concentrate our efforts on encouraging individual donations to this extremely worthwhile charity. On Sunday 13th May, which is the start of Christian Aid Week, all who are in attendance at the morning service will be issued with two Christian Aid envelopes – one for their own use and one for a friend.
