We are delighted that the FP BIG BAND have arranged to give a concert on Friday 27th October 2017 at 8pm – 10.30pm. This well-known local jazz band is comprised of former students who attended Mearns Castle High School and it is conducted by Grace Hamilton a music teacher who used to be at the school. What a great evening we had last Friday when our fourth Quiz night was held. It is so pleasing to note that we have been able to build upon the previous successes with this event and as a result 14 teams participated enthusiastically – our highest number yet! After eight varied rounds of questions and a lovely supper we were able to announce the overall winners to great applause, although it was a close run thing! Mary’s Meals will be coming to Broom Church on Sunday 19th March to collect any unwanted clothes, sheets, towels etc you may have. Those items which can be recycled will be sold or reused, but fabric of any quality (including shoes, bags and belts) will be gratefully received. These will help to provide one good meal, every school day, to over 1.1 million of the world’s poorest children. Please take this opportunity to have a good spring clean and bring your unwanted textiles to Church on the morning of the 19th March.......
